ReferenceBusiness Profile suspension

Business video verification: Not successful

Google reviewed the verification video and could not confirm the business from it. The profile stays unverified until a new video passes. Tap Review issues, read the reasons, then record one live, unedited, continuous video of at least 30 seconds that shows everything from the first video plus what was missing: where the business is, that it exists, and that the person filming manages it.

At a glance

Where it shows
The verification result on the Business Profile, with a Review issues notification.
What stops
The profile stays unverified. Google may reject content added to an unverified profile, and the business name and other information cannot be updated until it is verified.
How serious
Not a suspension, but the profile cannot be managed properly until a video passes.
How long
Review takes up to 5 business days, and occasionally longer.

What it means

Video verification asks for one continuous recording that proves three things: where the business is, that the business exists, and that the person recording manages it. Not successful means the reviewer could not confirm at least one of them, and Google shares the reasons.

What counts as proof depends on the kind of business. A storefront shows its street, its signage and an employees-only area. A service-area business shows landmarks near its base, its tools or branded items, and itself doing the work or opening business-only assets.

What actually triggers it

  1. The location cannot be placed

Google wants street signs, building numbers or nearby businesses for a storefront, and street signs and landmarks near the address for a service-area business. A video that starts indoors gives the reviewer nothing to place.

  2. No signage matching the profile

For a storefront, the signage with the business name has to match the profile. A sign that reads differently from the profile name leaves the existence of the business unproven.

  3. Nothing only the manager could show

Google asks for areas only employees reach, such as a register, storage room or point-of-sale system, or for a service-area business, performing a service or opening something like a branded vehicle. A permit, invoice or utility bill matching the profile name also works.

  4. An edited, cut or pre-recorded video

The recording has to be live, unedited and continuous, at least 30 seconds, and made and uploaded from a mobile device through the Business Profile. Pausing and restarting, or uploading a file recorded earlier, does not meet the rules.

  5. Private details on camera

Google says not to show bank, tax or ID numbers, private information about anyone, or other people's faces.

Fix it in this order

  1. Tap Review issues on the profile and note every reason Google gave.
  2. Plan the new video in one continuous route: start outside with the street or landmarks, move to the signage or the tools and equipment, and finish with the management proof, such as opening a staff-only area or a business document that matches the profile name.
  3. On a mobile device, go to the Business Profile, tap Get verified, then Business video, then Next, read the requirements and tap Start recording.
  4. Record at least 30 seconds without stopping, review it, use Try again if anything is missing, and tap Upload video.

Google reviews the new video within about 5 business days and sends a confirmation email once verification succeeds.

When to appeal

There is no appeal for a video that was not accepted. The route is a better video that covers everything the first one showed plus the missing items.

Often confused with

  • Get verified appears on the profile again

Google could not fully verify a business that had already gone through verification. Re-verify, or choose another method if the profile offers several.

  • Suspended for a virtual office or unstaffed address

A decision about whether the address is eligible at all. No video can fix an address the business does not operate from.

Can the old video be deleted?

Yes. Google says videos can be deleted at any time under the Business Profile settings, in Advanced settings, then Video uploads, then Delete videos. Otherwise Google deletes it later.
