Not enough info about business relationships associated with your account

Google's business operations verification asks you to list every party in the value chain: marketing firms, domain owners and anyone who logs into the account. Each relationship needs proof, such as a signed agreement or a letter, or else an identifier and a website where it can be checked. Remove any third-party mention on the website that you cannot document.

At a glance

Where it shows
The verification form, opened from Admin, then Policy, then Account.
What stops
Google's page does not say which ads or features stop while the form is open.
How serious
Google sends an email and an in-account notification when it cannot verify the business operations.

What it means

The form is about who stands behind the business, not what it sells. Google asks for each relationship that touches the business, so a marketing firm, a domain owner or a person who logs in all belong on it.

Google's page treats a third party mentioned on the website without a formal relationship as something to either document or remove, so the website and the form have to agree.

What actually triggers it

  1. A marketing partner named on the website

A third party mentioned on the site without a formal relationship has to be documented or removed. A partner logo or a credit line in the footer raises the same question.

  2. A person who logs in but is not on the form

The page says to include anyone who logs into the account, and it names domain owners as well. Freelancers who manage bids and people holding domain admin access are easy to leave off.

Fix it in this order

  1. Open Admin, expand the Policy drop-down, and select Account to reach the verification form.
  2. List every relationship in the value chain, including anyone who logs in and anyone who owns the domain.
  3. Upload proof for each relationship: an official agreement or contract, a letter on the other company's letterhead explaining it, or an invoice or email from the other company.
  4. If no document exists, give a unique identifier and a website where the relationship can be confirmed.
  5. Remove any third-party mention on the website that you cannot document, then submit the form.

The page says you may hide or redact proprietary or personal information, so the form does not need full private contracts to be complete.
