ReferenceBusiness Profile suspension
“Get verified” button appears again
The Get verified button returns when Google could not fully verify the business. If several verification options are offered, try a different one. Check that each document's business name and address match the profile before a second attempt. Verification reviews can take up to 5 business days. A Review issues notice is a different problem, about a video that was not accepted.
At a glance
- Where it shows
- On the profile, as the Get verified button.
- What stops
- Edits to the business name and other information wait until the profile is verified.
- How serious
- Not a suspension in Google's wording. The limit is on changing the name and other information until verification completes.
- How long
- Google says verification reviews take up to 5 business days, and on rare occasions longer.
What it means
Google's verification page says the button means Google could not fully verify the business. It gives no further cause, so the next step is about the method rather than a diagnosis.
Verification connects the profile to a real, operating business. Google's guidelines say name and other information can only be updated after the business is verified, and content added to an unverified profile may be rejected.
What actually triggers it
A verification method that did not complete
The page says that when several verification options are shown, a different method can be tried. The button returning is the sign that the method on offer did not finish.
Documents that do not match the listing
The appeal guidance asks that each document's business name and address match the profile exactly. A mismatch is the first thing to check before any second attempt, since the same mismatch will be present in the next one too.
Fix it in this order
- Open the verification options on the profile. If several are offered, choose a different method from the one that failed.
- Before you send anything, check that the business name and address on each document match the profile exactly, as the appeal guidance requires.
- Submit the method and wait for the result. Google's verification reviews take up to 5 business days, so do not resubmit inside that window.
- If the notice reads Review issues instead, select it and follow the on-screen instructions. That notice means a verification video was not accepted.
Once the business is verified, edits to the name and other information are open again. The page does not say the button is removed automatically, so check the profile after the review.
When to appeal
The verification pages describe no appeal for this message. Wait for the review or start a different method, as above.
Often confused with
Review issues
A notification, not a button. It means a verification video was not accepted. Select it and follow the on-screen instructions, rather than picking another method.
Verification required
The same rule as above: name and other information edits wait for verification. Verify first, then edit. The button on the profile is the sign that verification did not complete.
