Some of your pages are not tagged
Tag Diagnostics reports pages on the site that do not load the Google tag. Open the tag coverage summary, copy the page list, and start with ad landing pages, since a missing tag there leaves paid visits unmeasured. Fix the list, publish any Tag Manager change, then check the summary again to confirm the pages now show as tagged.
At a glance
- Where it shows
- The tag coverage summary in Tag Diagnostics, under Some of your pages are not tagged.
- What stops
- Visits to the untagged pages are not measured by the tag, and paid visits that land there go unrecorded.
- How serious
- A diagnostic status, not an account penalty.
What it means
Google's tag diagnostic counts the pages that load the Google tag and reports a warning when some of them do not. The status is about coverage across pages. A site can have the tag on most pages and still show this message.
Landing pages get their own line in the report. An ad sends a visitor to one specific page, and that page is where the measurement starts. A landing page without the tag is a gap in the place that matters most for paid clicks.
What actually triggers it
Pages added after the tag was set up
A page published later, outside the template or list the tag was added to, carries no tag. The coverage summary lists it by address, so the list shows which pages were missed.
A landing page built separately from the site
A campaign page built as its own page, on its own layout, is the one most likely to have no tag. It is also the page where a missing tag costs the most, which is why the report calls it out separately.
A tag that fires on a fixed list of pages
When Tag Manager fires the tag on a list of page addresses, a new page left off the list gets no tag, even though the rest of the site is covered.
Fix it in this order
- Open the tag coverage summary in Tag Diagnostics and copy the page list.
- Check the landing pages first, and fix any ad landing page on the list before the rest of the site.
- Open each page in Tag Assistant and confirm whether the Google tag loads on it.
- Add the tag to the page template, or add the page to the trigger that fires the tag, whichever the site uses.
- Publish the Tag Manager container, then check the coverage summary again. Changes that are not published do not reach the report.
Often confused with
Some of your landing pages are not tagged
The same check, limited to the pages that ads send visitors to. Its fix is the same list, handled first, so this page covers both messages.
The tag was never detected on the site at all. If the summary lists pages but the tag is detected elsewhere, this is a coverage gap, not a missing tag.
