ReferenceGoogle Ads disapproval
Binary options
Google prohibits ads for binary options and similar products, including digital options, digital 100 and all-or-nothing options. The policy also covers brokers, signals or software for them with no other financial products, and educational sites about them. Disapproved ads stop serving, and a strike system applies. Remove the ad, or edit it and check the destination.
At a glance
- Where it shows
- The Status column on the Ads & assets page, as Disapproved under this policy.
- What stops
- The ad stops serving. Some violations count toward a strike.
- How serious
- Serious over time. An account can receive one warning and up to three strikes, and the third strike suspends it.
What it means
Google prohibits ads for binary options and similar products because of the significant risk of financial loss they carry for users. The page names digital options, digital 100, fixed return options and all-or-nothing options as examples of similar products.
The rule reaches the whole chain, not only the product. It covers brokers that offer binary options and the signals or software for them, and informational or educational sites and blogs about them.
What actually triggers it
A broker that offers only these products
The page names brokers, signals and software for binary options with no other financial products. A broker that also offers other financial products is a case the page does not spell out.
Signals or software sold on their own
Sellers of signals and software for binary options are named in the policy. An ad for such signals falls under the rule even without a product of the seller's own.
An educational blog about binary options
Informational and educational sites about binary options or equivalent products are covered. Content that explains the products without selling them can still be disapproved.
Prediction markets
Prediction markets sit under their own policy, and the page points advertisers who want to promote them there. Do not assume the binary options rule settles a prediction market case.
Fix it in this order
- In Google Ads, go to Ads under the Campaigns menu, and find each disapproved ad.
- Remove the ad, or edit it to drop every mention of binary options and their equivalents.
- Check the page the ad links to for the same products. The covered list includes brokers and educational sites, so the destination matters as well as the copy.
- Select Save. Re-review typically takes 24 to 48 hours. Check the Status column on the Ads & assets page.
When to appeal
Appeal from the account when the ad does not offer binary options or a similar product, and point to the part of the ad or page you believe is wrong.
If the business is a prediction market, check the separate Prediction Markets policy first, since the page sends advertisers there.
