ReferenceGoogle Ads disapproval
Unavailable offers
Google Ads disapproves ads that promise a product, service, price or deal the landing page does not show, such as an ended sale or a price the site does not list. Check each offer in headlines, descriptions, sitelinks and callouts against the page, then remove any offer that cannot be found there. Save the edit for review.
At a glance
- Where it shows
- The Status column on the Ads & assets page, as Disapproved.
- What stops
- That ad stops serving until the offer is removed or the page shows it.
- How serious
- Violations do not cause immediate suspension. Google gives a warning at least 7 days before any suspension.
- How long
- Google says re-review typically takes 24 to 48 hours after the edit is saved.
What it means
The policy requires that any product, service or promotional offer in the ad is available, and can be found on the destination. A sale that ended, or a price the page does not list, breaks the promise the ad made, however small the ad text looks.
Google's example is an ad that quotes a price for an item when the destination shows no such item at that price. The test is whether the offer can be found on the page now, not whether it existed at some point.
What actually triggers it
An ended sale still in a sitelink
A sale in a sitelink or callout that outlived the promotion on the page. Sitelinks are easy to miss when a promotion ends, because they are not in the headline.
A price the page does not list
An amount in the ad that does not appear on the landing page, such as a price for an item the site has taken off its menu.
A call to action the page does not deliver
An ad that promises a booking, a quote or a download that the page does not offer.
Fix it in this order
- Open Campaigns, then Ads, and find each Disapproved ad. Read every headline, description, sitelink and callout for any offer, price or promotion.
- Open the landing page and check each offer is present and current. Note any that are not.
- Hover over the ad or asset, select Edit, and remove or replace each offer the page does not show.
- Select Save, then check the status after the review.
When to appeal
Appeal when the offer is on the page and current, and the flag still stands. Appeal from the account.
If the offer has ended, remove it from the ad. An appeal does not put a sale back on the page.
Often confused with
Dishonest pricing is about a real price whose true cost is hidden. Unavailable offers is about a deal or price the page does not show at all. A price with a fee shown only at checkout is pricing; a sale that ended and still sits in a sitelink is this one.
