ReferenceGoogle Ads disapproval
Price asset requirements
Google disapproves a price asset when its header or description carries price information, unless a local law requires a price qualification, or carries promotional text such as Sale or Free shipping. Each header must name only what its asset type allows. Remove the offending words, check the header against its type, then edit and save the asset.
At a glance
- Where it shows
- The Status column on the Assets page, as Disapproved under this policy.
- What stops
- The price asset does not serve while it stands.
- How serious
- Low on its own. Removing the asset helps prevent an account suspension for too many disapproved assets.
- How long
- Google says edited assets are reviewed, usually within 1 business day.
What it means
A price asset is a structured list of offers shown under the ad. The header and description have narrow jobs: the header names a kind of thing, such as a service category or a location, and the description says more about that named kind. The page applies this header rule to each asset type separately, so a line that fits one type can fail on another.
The URL rule is separate: each asset's URL must lead to the same final URL domain as the text ad it sits with.
What actually triggers it
A price in the header or description
Price information is not allowed in the header or description, except a price qualification that local law requires.
Promotional words in the header or description
Words such as Sale in a header or Free shipping in a description are the examples the page gives.
A header that names a product rather than a category
Each asset type allows only one kind of header. A service category header can hold a category name, such as Dental or Car repair, not individual services.
A URL on another domain than the ad
Each asset URL must lead to the same final URL domain as the text ad it is attached to.
Fix it in this order
- Open Assets, find the price asset marked Disapproved, and read its header and description.
- Remove any price figure from the header and description, unless a local law requires the qualification.
- Remove promotional words such as Sale or Free shipping.
- Check that each header names only what its asset type allows, and that each URL leads to the domain of the ad. Then select the pencil icon for the asset and select Save.
Edited assets are reviewed, usually within 1 business day. Check the status on the Assets page after that.
When to appeal
Appeal when the header and description meet the rules and the asset is still flagged. If you cannot or do not want to fix the violation, remove the asset.
Often confused with
Promo codes in Promotion assets
Promotion assets have their own promo code rule. A price asset is about price and promotional words in its header or description, so a fix to one does not clear the other.
The offers rule covers prices and offers that cannot be found at the destination. It is a separate message from the header and description rules on a price asset.
