Conversion Rate
Conversion rate is the percentage of visitors who complete a defined action, usually a phone call, form submission, or booking. A 2 percent rate means 2 of every 100 visitors converted. Most service business sites land between 1 and 5 percent, and the difference is almost always the landing page, not the traffic.
What a healthy conversion rate looks like
Service homepages average 1 to 2.5 percent. Dedicated service landing pages average 3 to 6 percent. The best emergency service pages we have built hit 9 to 15 percent because they match an urgent searcher with a single clear offer and click-to-call above the fold.
If your conversion rate is below 1 percent on paid traffic, your landing page is broken. Above 5 percent and traffic volume is the bottleneck.
The three changes that move CR most
Clearer above-the-fold promise that matches the ad. Shorter forms with 3 to 5 fields max. Visible click-to-call button on mobile. Each typically lifts CR 15 to 40 percent on its own.
Owners chase complex tactics like exit intent popups and AI personalization while the three basics above remain unfixed. Get those right first, then test the fancier stuff.
