White Label Marketing
White label marketing means one company performs the work and another resells it under its own brand. Many small agencies white label SEO, paid ads, and content from larger fulfillment shops. It is legal and sometimes works fine, but it changes who is actually accountable for your results.
Why it matters when picking an agency
If the agency you signed with does not employ the people doing the work, communication slows, quality varies, and accountability blurs. When something goes wrong on your campaign, your account manager has to ask their fulfillment partner, who is one or two layers away from your business.
It is not always bad. The fulfillment partner may be excellent and the agency may add real strategic value. But you deserve to know who is actually running your account so you can judge the risk.
How to tell if work is being done in-house
Ask directly. Who specifically will manage my account day to day, and are they your employee or a contractor or partner? Ask for the LinkedIn profiles of the team. Ask to meet the strategist and the paid media lead before signing.
Real in-house teams answer immediately and proudly introduce you to the people who will own the work. White label resellers usually deflect or stay vague. Either can be acceptable, but you should know before you sign.
